About Course Instructors
|
| Part of the Semlink team that will be guiding you through your course
are your course instructors. They consist of two, or possibly three, people
who are directly involved in your educational experience as you engage
with the subject matter of your course. They are: the lecturing professor,
the mentoring professor and the Semlink Teaching Fellow. Additionally,
the Semlink office and development staff are ready to assist you as needed. |
| |
| LECTURING PROFESSOR |
| |
The Lecturing Professor for each Semlink course (unless otherwise
indicated) is one of Gordon-Conwell’s distinguished full-time
professors. They have been recorded in the classroom during an actual
class session during the academic year, and the lectures have
been edited for the specific use of the Semlink program.

| MENTORING PROFESSOR |
| |
Mentoring Professors are the faculty members responsible for offering
the course and grading any course work. In most cases, the mentoring
professor for a Semlink course is the same person who provided the
recorded lectures. In some instances, however, the professor who mentors
the course is different from the lecturing professor (particularly
with the courses from ITS). In this event, the mentoring professor
serves as another point of contact for the student. This is the professor
who grades any papers, assignments and exams.

| SEMLINK TEACHING FELLOW |
| |
Semlink Teaching Fellows are students of Gordon-Conwell Theological
Seminary who have demonstrated outstanding ability within their specific
discipline and intend to pursue further study leading to
careers in academia. Together with the mentoring professors they generate
the Integration Questions that are posted in the online forums, and
they provide email Conversation Starters on each course homepage in
order to nurture an increased level of interactivity and community
for our Semlink courses. Working closely with the faculty
who lecture and mentor the courses, Teaching Fellows act as the first
line of contact with questions related to your course.

| SEMLINK STAFF |
| |
The Semlink Staff are responsible for the administrative side of your
Semlink experience. They handle registration, course materials, exam
requests and they receive and process all paperwork including assignments,
reading reports and special projects. They are available in the Semlink
office during business hours (9 am to 4 pm E.S.T.) Monday through Friday.
